The 2018 Portishead Soapbox Race map has been released! The course this year will feature some awesome new obstacles as well as some great bits from last year. Obstacles will include a ramp, a chicane, a three level kicker and the awesome water splash. Will the carts have what it takes to navigate the course without failure? Watch for free on Sunday 15th July.
Volunteer and Information Evening - This Thursday, the 7th June, we will be holding our 2018 volunteer and information evening at VENGA in Portishead. From 7pm, we will be on hand to talk to teams, local residents, sponsors and volunteers about the 2018 event. Please come along and see the event plans and ask any questions you may have. Are you able to volunteer on the day? The success of the event is down to the hard work put in by a great team of volunteers. We have a number of job roles that need filling for the event. If you are able to spare 10 minutes, please pop along to VENGA to sign up. Sunday 15th July - Race Day Times - 10.30 - Practice Runs Begin 12.30 - Times Runs Begin 16.30 - Medal Ceremony Team entrants will have further detailed timings in other emails. Parking & Road Closure Information - To help the event run smoothly, we have extensive road closures and diversions in place across the event weekend. Please take a look here to see the road closure map. On event day, Sunday 15th June, we will be operating a car park at Kilkenny Fields. Please follow the event signage and guidance of the marshals for the car park. The cost is £5 per car which can be paid on arrival by contactless card or cash. Please do not try and park on nearby streets as you may inadvertently block residents and emergency services access.
